Be An Angel provides personal adaptive equipment to children with special needs including, but not limited to, wheelchairs, medical trikes/strollers, feeding devices, & more.
Enabling Mobility
Van Conversions & Lifts
Transporting a child with special needs isn’t easy. Oftentimes, parents or caregivers have to lift the child in & out of vehicles, or carry upstairs at home presenting physical duress or safety issues. Be An Angel will consider applications for van conversions and lift systems to ensure the safety and support for all parties.

Hearing Devices
We supply hearing aids & devices to families who cannot afford them, or are not Medicaid/Insurance qualified. We also provide audiological testing equipment for medical organizations focused on hearing testing and assessment.

Be An Angel strives to allow our special angels to participate in life to their fullest. Throughout our history, we have undertaken projects that create accessible places to play and enjoy outdoor activities that our kids would not otherwise be able to do. We have constructed 38 inclusive playgrounds in parks and at schools throughout Houston and the state of Texas. Because of these sites, thousands of special needs children are given the chance to play alongside their siblings and able-bodied friends.
specialized care and therapies
Respite Care & select services
Be An Angel provides select services to support children with special needs and their families, such as respite care. Parents or legal guardians of medically fragile children may receive up to 12 hours of at-home respite care services per month. We maintain an approved list of highly skilled caregivers that are screened, CPR certified, and experienced in caring for special needs children. We also are aligned and coordinate with Selected Agency Therapeutic Services that provide both physical and occupational therapies to help improve a child’s abilities to further grow and enhance capabilities and independence.

Camp Be An Angel
Multiple times a year, we conduct Family Camps at facilities that have been constructed and adapted to allow maximum accessibility and accommodations for children with special needs. These camps provide immersive experiences for the children and their entire families, giving these special needs kids the chance to participate in activities like fishing, horseback riding, archery, zip-lining, and more.

Christmas Gifts
Every year, Be An Angel’s Christmas Gifting Program brings joy to thousands of children with special needs by fulfilling their individual holiday wish lists. Families caring for these special children may have financial challenges that make the holidays difficult. With the help of our dedicated volunteers, Be An Angel steps in to fund, purchase, wrap, and deliver individually tailored gifts to the kid’s education classrooms. If you’d like to support this annual program, we encourage you to check out our volunteer opportunities or make an online contribution.
Give The Gift of Christmas
A $40 donation will help make the holidays brighter for these children by ensuring they have presents waiting under the Christmas tree. You can also lend a hand by volunteering to shop, wrap, decorate, and deliver these gifts.
Skill Development
success golf
Success Golf, short for Students Undertaking Challenging Courses Ensuring Sportsmanship and Skill, is a specialized 9-hole mini-golf course designed to benefit children with special needs. Sponsored by Insperity, this program promotes fun, learning, and the development of fine motor skills and cognitive growth.
Participants receive a golf bag complete with clubs and balls before the event, allowing them to practice key skills such as mobility, dexterity, social interaction, and communication. On event day, students are encouraged to apply the skills they’ve developed in a fun, supportive environment that challenges them to grow and build confidence.
Outreach beyond borders
International
Be An Angel has an international outreach program which supports medically fragile orphaned children in the Dominican Republic. We provide financial assistance to “Casa de Luz” (“House of Light”) which houses and supports 40+ severely disabled children by giving them a home, nourishment, medical care, physical therapy, and a loving family environment in which to live and grow.
