Retiring in January 2019, David’s professional career spanned 42 years in the institutional investment management industry, the last 32 as a Portfolio Manager and Managing Director of Fixed Income at Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney and Strauss, LLC. in Dallas. During his Barrow Hanley tenure, the Fixed Income Group’s assets under management grew from $300 million to approximately $12 billion, while the team of investment professionals expanded from three to eighteen. 

A native of Grapevine, Texas, David attended Texas Christian University where he earned a B.B.A. degree, was a four-year letterman on the track team and earned N.C.A.A. All American status. David later attended and was awarded a masters’ degree from The London School of Economics. 

David joined the BAA Advisory Board in 2011, is a member of the Board of First Tee of Fort Worth and The Ben Hogan Foundation Advisory Board.  He is a member of Shady Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth.

Bob is a native Texan with over thirty-years’ of experience as a practicing lawyer.  A graduate of the McCombs School of Business and Texas Tech School of Law, Bob is an avid golfer and outdoorsman.  Bob’s experience in law has been wide reaching, having practiced in commercial litigation, business contracts and transactions, real estate, intellectual property, and estate matters. Concentrating on small to mid-sized entrepreneurial clients has enabled him to see many different scenarios, and to appreciate the diverse ways goals can be reached.  Bob is very experienced in negotiating compromises, having come to firmly believe that reasonable settlement is always better than litigation.  Bob now manages his own law firm in Plano, Texas, where he lives with his wife in a recently emptied nest.

Bob is also a servant leader and is passionate about helping those that are unable to help themselves. His prior involvement in Rotary has provided training in international projects and grant writing.  

Destination and legacy are the concepts that drive Bob.  No one reaches his “destination” without help from other people.  Many people influence us during the journey.  Bob’s father used to tell him – “Everything you do in life is influencing someone, be it good or bad.”  As people that merely borrow space on this world for but a time, we need to think hard about the legacy we leave, which will continue to influence and guide others.  In the words of Jim Rohn: “All good men and women must take responsibility to create legacies that will take the next generation to a level we could only imagine.”

Daniel Solcher is an experienced manager with over 30 years involving for-profit and non-profit businesses, namely San Antonio Center for Hard of Hearing and Deaf, Sunshine Cottage, Latin Hearing Aid, and Ability. He also retired from AT&T. By joining Be An Angel, he is excited and looks forward to helping the children in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Deaf Education Coordinator, Mesquite ISD

“I am a Deaf Education Coordinator for Mesquite ISD. I oversee the Mesquite Regional Day School Program for the Deaf and get to work with incredible teachers, staff and students. I grew up in southern California until the age of 14 and then came to Texas as soon as I could. I graduated from Prosper High School and went on to complete my Bachelors and Masters degree in Deaf Education. Upon completing my Masters degree I began my career as a Deaf Education Teacher. I taught for 5 years before accepting my current position as the Deaf Education Coordinator. I oversee 3 different campuses with 70 staff members and we work with 10 surrounding districts to support the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. Our program has approximately 300 DHH students and we are continuing to grow.

Aside from work, I am married to my incredible husband, Justin Pinckney and we are currently awaiting the arrival of our baby girl in June. I only recently joined the BAA advisory board, but I am extremely excited to continue to support Special Needs students and their families outside of my day to day work.”

Amelia has previously served Fort Worth ISD as the Principal at Jo Kelly School, a self contained campus for medically fragile students, and Assistant Principal at Boulevard Heights, a self contained campus for students with significant behavioral needs.  While at Boulevard Heights, she also served the staff and students in multiple transition programs.

When Amelia isn’t working she enjoys spending time watching her kids play sports.  Amelia and her husband, Todd have 3 kids  – Ellie, Abby and Brandon.  They also spend time with their 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks when they aren’t at soccer, football or basketball.  They also enjoy the beach in the summer and the mountains in the winter.

Former American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the Houston Oilers and Dallas Cowboys.

Born and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, Mike Renfro is one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play football in the Southwest Conference. Renfro spent his entire football career in Texas, playing there from his early school days, to TCU and on to the Houston Oilers & Dallas Cowboys.
His father Ray, a star receiver for the Cleveland Browns and Mike, are one of the greatest father-son wide receiver duos in NFL history, with the pair combining for 604 receptions for 10,216 yards and 78 touchdowns throughout their careers.
Coach Bum Phillips and The Houston Oilers selected Renfro in the 1978 NFL draft. He would play six years with the Oilers alongside Earl Campbell and catching passes from QB greats Dan Pastorini, Kenny Stabler and Archie Manning.
In 1984, Tom Landry & the Dallas Cowboys traded for Mike and the following year while leading the team in TD receptions thrown by Danny White, he was named the team’s most valuable player.
After 11 seasons in the NFL, Renfro retired in 1988. He ended his career with an impressive 323 receptions for 4,708 yards and 28 touchdowns. Renfro is a member of the TCU Athletics Hall of Fame, Southwest Conference Hall of Fame and Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
Today, Renfro is a vice president for CJ Thoroughbreds, where his passion is spent with the company developing and racing thoroughbred racehorses throughout North America.
Mike is married with three adult kids and seven young grandkids.

Amber Stilwell, a Native of Nocona, Texas, has lived and worked in Dallas/Fort Worth for 32 years in the title insurance and real estate sales industries, and has continued as the last rancher of the namesake family farm running a cow/calf operation in her hometown of Nocona, Texas. She is the Director of Commercial Business Development for Magnolia Title and has held a Texas agent/broker license for over twenty years. Amber previously owned and managed Prestige Homes & Land Realtors, specializing in farm and ranch real estate transactions, condo developments, and commercial sales and property management. She earned both her Senior Real Estate Specialist designation while selling real estate and is also a Graduate of the Land Title School of Texas.

Amber completed her Associate in Arts at Tarrant County College and earned the prestigious, Phi Theta Kappa designation, one month before her second child’s birth, while managing her successful real estate company in Fort Worth, Texas. She later returned to her first love, title insurance, and has developed a loyal customer following while being actively involved in her current hometown of Grapevine, Texas.  As a graduate of both Leadership Grapevine and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Community Champions and previous multi-year GCISD PTA Board Member, she believes in being actively involved in the community.  As the mother of a handicapped child who has spent years wrestling with insurance and, especially, wheelchair authorizations for her child, she was delighted and excited to be asked to be a part of Be an Angel/DFW when she learned of its mission and the need. 

Programs Manager

Brandee Guyton is the Programs Manager for Be An Angel in Dallas/Fort Worth. She
has 18 years of experience in education, including 12 years in Allen ISD. Brandee
resides in Allen, Texas, and is the mother of three children. She earned her
undergraduate degree from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, and holds
an alternative teaching certification from iTeach Texas. Brandee is excited to transition
from education to helping special needs children and their families through her work
with Be An Angel.
