Respite Care

At-home respite care provides parents with skilled care by a state licensed caretaker, freeing parents to take care of errands, appointments and other activities.

Continuous vigilance required to care for these children can make it challenging to engage in other necessary activities, including just time to rest.

Parents or legal guardians of medically fragile children receive up to 12 hours of respite care services per month from the caregiver of their choice selected from an approved list.

Caregivers from the approved list have been screened, are CPR certified, and are familiar with special needs children and their requirements regarding communication, feeding and hygiene.
