From Oral Communication to Employment and Insurance, the needs of children and young adults with profound deafness are vital and affect their entire lives. Isolation is a frequent result of hearing loss. Movies, plays, and concerts are no longer accessible. Communicating with normal hearing friends can become frustrating and unrewarding resulting in further withdrawal. The reality of the moment is that our public school districts are making tremendous strides with the profoundly deaf population groups. Cochlear implants are transforming lives. However, the expenses associated with these implants are enormous and well out of the reach of low income families. Be An Angel's Hearing Aid Program assists with providing hearing aids to children from low income families.
