Providing gifts to over
3,695 multiply handicapped and profoundly deaf students
from 262 schools within 15 school districts in the
Houston, Dallas and Fort Worth Areas.

| Barrier-Free Playgrounds >> |
 |
Twenty years ago, none
of the wheelchair-bound students could participate
in recess with their able bodied peers. One of the
first major projects for Be An Angel was the
construction of barrier-free playgrounds allowing all
of the students to play together, side by side. Be An Angel has constructed twenty barrier-free playgrounds in HISD, Humble, Katy and Montgomery ISD's offering recreation to thousands of area children. Find out more >>

Each year Be An Angel coordinates a special long weekend retreat for these special children and their families. Attending camp gives the special needs children the opportunity to continue developing their skills outside of the home and classroom environments.

The Respite Care Program provides skilled care for medically fragile children with multiple disabilities during the summer and/or holiday season.

Many of these children require motorized wheel chairs and often this equipment can be financially out of reach for families. With your donations these children and their families are given a degree of independence.

Assist parents in purchasing life sustaining nutritional supplements, such as Ensure, Pediasure, Nutren Jr., etc., of which they are unable to purchase on their own because of financial limitations.

The Multi-Sensory Equipment Program provides proactive sensory stimulation for mentally handicapped, visual, hearing or physically impaired children.

| Snow Days >> |

Every year in December, Be An Angel treats the T.H. Rogers HISD elementary school to "Snow Day." Over 30 tons of snow are produced as the front lawn of the school is transformed into a winter snowscape.
